The American Society of Anesthesiologists has launched a new video on its lifelinepatients YouTube channel, highlighting the need for responsible use of pain medication and proper disposal of the drugs, according to an ASA news release.
The addition to the ASA's YouTube channel follows the release of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Plan, according to the release. The addition supports the report's recommendations by providing education to the public.
Other videos on the channel educate patients on anesthesia awareness, labor and delivery, smoking cessation before surgery, sleep apnea, anesthesia considerations for geriatric patients and other issues.
