Medline's co-founder and longtime CEO James Mills died at 82, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Mr. Mills reportedly suffered an aortic tear and died of a heart attack at Lake Forest (Ill.) Hospital on July 1.
Mr. Mills founded Medline with his brother, Jon, in 1966. The Northfield, Ill.-based medical supply manufacturer and distributor has since grown to include about 24,000 employees. It is expected to generate over $13 billion in revenues this year.
The founding brothers took a step back and became co-chairmen of Medline in 1997. James Mills retired from that position in 2017. His son, Charlie, is the current CEO of Medline.
