Jacob Hookom, of medical supply chain company McKesson, shared insights on how ASCs can improve their supply chain operations.
Three of his tips:
1. Non-acute settings face challenges balancing cost and quality. Checking contracts to find the best supplies at the lowest price can help mitigate cost challenges.
2. Ordering supplies also presents a challenge for ASCs. Non-acute sites like ASCs shouldn't order supplies in the same way hospitals do. Instead, ASCs should space supply-ordering out more to save on shipping costs.
