Two Vermont caregivers were sentenced to time in prison and ordered to pay restitution for Medicaid fraud, according to a news release from the office of Attorney General William H. Sorrell.
Debra Spicer and Valerie Tofani were convicted of submitting false timesheets and receiving payment for services they never provided.
Ms. Spicer was sentenced to three to six years in prison and was ordered to pay $6,808 in restitution. Ms. Tofani was sentenced to two and a half to five years in prison and was ordered to pay $6,690 in restitution.
