MedBridge, a provider of development, management, turnaround and revenue cycle services to ambulatory surgery centers, has announced it has received certification by the Green Business Program of Santa Barbara County (Calif.).
To earn the certification, MedBridge committed resources and effort to meet the requirements, according to a news release. Steps taken include replacing traditional fluorescent lighting with energy-efficient T8 fixtures and bulbs; replacing conventional sprinkler heads with drip irrigation or rotating heads; installing a rain sensor to reduce irrigation water usage; and replacing copy paper of 30 percent post-consumer waste (PCW) content with 100 percent PCW paper.
"This certification demonstrates MedBridge's commitment to environmental stewardship and the hope that each of our employees thinks about their carbon footprint at work and home," said Ruth Loomer, general manager at MedBridge, in the news release.
