Compensation for Healthcare Quality Professionals Increase, Unemployment Decreases

The average annual salary for full-time healthcare quality professionals is now $85,289, up from $83,442 in 2009, while the number of quality professionals reporting they were unemployed, retired or laid off declined to 3.1 percent compared to 4.9 percent in 2009, according to the results of the 24th Annual Salary Survey conducted by Quality Progress, a publication of ASQ.

 

The latest survey included almost 5,350 respondents. Here are some other interesting results from the survey:

 

- Quality professionals with more than 20 years of experience earn an average of $94,756.

- Professionals with 10-20 years of experience earned on average $86,993.

- Professionals with 10 or fewer years of experience earned on average $71,129.

- Earning certifications, such as CMQ/OE and CQA, can help boost salary thousands of dollars.
