Millennium Laboratories announced it will sponsor two education initiatives aimed at teaching physicians safer opioid prescribing practices and addressing medication-taking behaviors of pain patients at the American Academy of Pain Medicine annual meeting.
A two-day seminar will focus on identifying causes of abuse, misuse and deaths related to opioid use. The course will feature expert discussions. The symposium will look at medication-taking behaviors of pain patients as well as the clinical value of medication monitoring. Millennium will also host a breakfast symposium led by Lora Brown, MD, of Coastal Orthopedics & Pain Management in Bradenton, Fla.; and Jennifer Strickland, PharmD, adjunct professor at University of Florida College of Pharmacy.
The AAPM annual meeting is underway now and will continue through Sunday at the Palm Springs (Calif.) Convention Center.
