Michigan Governor Proclaims September "Pain Awareness Month"

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has proclaimed September Pain Awareness Month, according to a report from the Sentinel Standard.

Gov. Snyder hopes to raise awareness about the financial and personal costs related to chronic pain management, which is estimated to impact 4 million people in Michigan. According to the report, under treated and untreated pain costs in Michigan could amount to $16 billion in annual healthcare expenses, lost productivity and lost wages
