Interventional Management Services Announces Pain Center Acquisitions, Developments

Interventional Management Services, an ambulatory surgery center management and development company based in Atlanta, this week announced the acquisition of two area pain management practices: East Georgia Pain Management Center in Covington and Pain Management of the South in Atlanta.

IMS is also in the process of constructing a new pain management ambulatory surgery center in central Atlanta near Piedmont Hospital, according to Robin Fowler, MD, chairman and medical director of IMS. "[These developments] will provide seven full-time pain physicians covering significant amounts of Atlanta and its surrounding communities," he said.

The company is also developing a new ambulatory surgery center for pain in southwest Atlanta and is considering a development in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs, according to CEO Stephen Rosenbaum. "Should we decide to pursue that development, we will have a total of six ambulatory surgery centers in the state of Georgia," he said.
