Seminole County in Florida will likely extend a ban on new pain management clinics for an additional six months as it continues to crack down on prescription drug abuse and pill mills, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.
The county's current ban, set to expire April 1, also limits the hours of currently operating clinics to 7 a.m. through 9 p.m. The moratorium "simply prohibits fly-by-night, storefront operations from setting up shop for the purpose of selling painkiller prescriptions for cash," according to a county memo.
