FDA Okays Tamper-Resistant Oxycodone Pill From Pfizer

The FDA has approved OXECTA, an oxycodone pill from Pfizer that discourages opioid abusers from tampering with it to get a more concentrated dose, according to a release from Pfizer.

Pfizer is licensing the technology behind OXECTA, called AVERSION, from Acura Pharmaceuticals.

OXECTA is indicated for the management of acute and chronic pain that is moderate to severe and where use of opioids is appropriate.
