Dr. James Dalfino of Connecticut Disc & Laser Therapy Centers Launches Use of Cutting-Edge Laser Pain Treatments

James J. Dalfino, MD, of Connecticut Disc & Laser Therapy Centers, now offers advanced therapy technologies known as the MLS M6 Therapy Laser and the Multiradiance MR4 Therapy Laser in his Shelton, Conn., clinic, according to a news release.

The lasers are used to treat chronic pain and have a success rate of 90 percent. Lasers deliver light energy units called photons to the damaged cells. The body absorbs the laser light in a way that decreases inflammation, swelling and pain by accelerating the production of Adenosine 5'-triphosphate, which plays a major role in pain reception.

"Laser therapy is quickly becoming the go-to treatment option in a clinical setting today," Dr. Dalfino said in the release. "You can find laser devices now in therapy clinics, hospitals, podiatry and veterinarian offices. It has quickly become my pain relieving secret weapon."
