Towson, Md.-based SurgCenter Development's outpatient complex spine program is growing.
Six insights on the program:
1. SurgCenter Development's outpatient facilities performed more than 2,200 complex spine cases in 2018, compared to around 1,000 in 2014.
2. More than 260 physicians perform outpatient cervical fusions, lumbar fusions and total disc replacements in SurgCenter facilities.
3. Complex spine procedures are offered at 102 SurgCenter facilities.
4. SurgCenter's complex spine program has yielded a 0.01 percent infection rate.
5. The average recovery period for SurgCenter's complex spine patients is four hours or less.
6. Ninety-seven percent of patients who undergo complex spine procedures at SurgCenter facilities return home the same day.
