Muskegon (Mich.) Surgery Center is the state's first ASC to use Medtronic's Mazor X Stealth Edition robotic guidance platform for spine surgery.
Three highlights:
1. MSC is the second surgery center in the country to introduce the Mazor X Stealth Edition, which allows surgeons to create personalized 3D surgical plans before surgery. A robotic arm holds surgical instrumentation in place during spine procedures.
2. Medtronic launched the Mazor X Stealth Edition in January. The first procedures using the system were performed at Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare and Reston (Va.) Hospital Center.
3. The technology was also purchased by UC San Diego Health; UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria, Ill.; and The Spine Center of Excellence at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Miramar, Fla.
