Three workload details:
1. Forty five percent of orthopedists spend 10 to 19 hours on paperwork and administration every week. Twenty-eight percent spend 20 hours or more on paperwork and administrative duties.
2. Twenty-six percent of orthopedists said rules and regulations were the most challenging aspect of their job. Reimbursement, EHRs, difficult patients and lawsuit fears were also mentioned..
3. Thirty-three percent of orthopedists have physician assistants in their practice, while 29 percent have nurse practitioners. Fifty-four percent of orthopedists use neither.
