UT Medical Group, based in Memphis, Tenn., has added three physicians to its ophthalmology department, according to a Memphis Daily News report.
Shiva Nobar, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist specializing in strabmismus. She received her MD from Ross University School of Medicine in Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies, according to her bio. She then completed an internship in internal medicine at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, a residency in ophthalmology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Byron Wilkes, MD, specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eye and eyelids. He received his MD from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, according to his bio. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a residency in ophthalmology at Dean A. McGee Eye Institute at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, and a fellowship in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery at University of Louisville in Kentucky.
Alinda McGowin, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in adult eye care and cataracts.
UT Medical Group is the private practice arm of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center faculty.
