Ophthalmologist Dr. Shantaram Talegaonkar to Receive Humanitarian Award

Ophthalmologist Shantaram K. Talegaonkar, MD, will receive a humanitarian award from the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, according to a Richmond Times-Dispatch report.

 

He will receive the award in recognition of his work as an ambassador for Virginia's South Asian community.

 

He was scheduled to receive the award at the 50th annual Richmond Humanitarian Awards dinner on October 29, but the event was postponed and will be rescheduled.

 

Dr. Talegaonkar is a founding member of the Hindu Center of Virginia in Glen Allen. He is a member of the board of trustees for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and volunteers as a physician at CrossOver Health Care Ministry.
