What you should know:

1. VisionPoint Eye Center furloughed nearly 90 employees and is operating with a staff of 10 employees. The eye center received a Paycheck Protection Program loan that’ll help the business stay afloat and keep its employees paid through the pandemic.

2. Gailey Eye Clinic limited operations at most of its Illinois practices, with only about half of its 300 employees currently working full time or close to it. These employees have worked to reschedule appointments and stay in consistent communication with patients.

3. Both practices expect they’ll survive the pandemic and will reopen once appropriate.
