Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which serves as the department of ophthalmology for University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, is planning to expand its Naples, Fla., center, according to a Naples Daily News report.
Bascom Palmer is expected to complete purchase of a 1.5-acre redevelopment site at the end of the month.
Existing buildings on the property will be demolished for construction of a new treatment and surgery center, intended for research and post-graduate training.
Development is expected to take about two years and cost as much as $10 million, according to a News-Press report.
Bascom Palmer opened its Naples satellite office in 2004.
