The country's largest producers include Siemens, B. Braun and Fresenius. Due to the economic downturn, German medical device companies are now relying more heavily on the export market. Despite the country's several domestic medical device companies, it reported $14.1 billion in imports, which supplied around three-quarters of the medical market.
