Bert Mandelbaum, MD, orthopedic surgeon and co-chair of medical affairs at the Institute for Sports Sciences in Los Angeles, recently performed knee surgery for professional soccer player James Riley at the Surgery Center of Pacific in Santa Monica, according to a report in SB Nation.
Mr. Riley is an LA Galaxy player who suffered a left lateral meniscus tear. He is expected to begin the recover process immediately but it will be at least six months before he returns to play, according to the report.
