Alfredo Dubra, PhD, assistant professor of ophthalmology and biophysics, and the Medical College of Wisconsin received a $250,000, four-year grant from Research to Prevent Blindness to study diseases impacting the retina and the optic nerve, according to a university news release.
Dr. Dubra will lead the research and use adaptive optics to take high resolution images of living eyes. The visualization of individual cells will provide insight into diseases such as glaucoma, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.
