Hendersonville, N.C.-based Pardee Hospital is awaiting a decision from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services on whether the hospital's proposed ASC will be approved, WHKP Radio reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. The state health department held a public hearing to receive comments on the surgery center Oct. 19.
2. At the meeting, the general public had no comments. A county commissioner did make a comment in support of the center.
3. Pardee Hospital CEO Jay Kirby expects the state will issue its ruling between Nov. 30, 2018, and Jan. 31, 2019.
4. If approved, the hospital will construct a 17,000-square-foot ASC estimated to cost $16.3 million.
