Founder of San Diego-based Olympus Orthopedics and orthopedic surgeon Oke Anakwenze, MD, reported on LinkedIn his practice is launching a new surgical center, Advanced Surgery Center of North County.
"We believe that quality orthopedic care for healthy patients will continue to transition out of large traditional hospitals with significant cost disadvantages and inefficiencies," he wrote. "With that in mind, we built this center to be a fully operational outpatient joint replacement and spine center using current best practices and appropriate screening. This will also be achieved by all members working with similar purpose and enthusiasm towards the end goal."
Dr. Anakwenze, the ASC's CEO, and his partners have grown Olympus Orthopedics to include 15 orthopedic surgeons. He has expertise in joint replacements and trauma care, as well as non-operative regenerative options for patients with musculoskeletal problems that don't need surgery.
Dr. Anakwenze is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and candidate member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He also serves as the head team physician for the San Diego Albions professional soccer league.
