Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine is planning a 62,100-square-foot addition to its Medical Center of Clifton Park (N.Y.), Albany Business Review reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. If approved, the new three-story Ellis Medical Center would feature an ASC, physician offices and two operating rooms. There would be space for two more ORs in the future.
2. With the addition, Ellis Medicine's Clifton Park presence would more than double.
3. Construction would take about one year, and the building would replace an existing two-story building on an 11.57-acre plot of land.
4. The Clifton Park planning board will discuss the project at an Oct. 10 meeting.
5. In July, Ellis's board decided against affiliating or merging with other healthcare organizations after spending two years reviewing proposals. The system is now focused on expanding and improving services.
6. Ellis Medicine previously received state approval for a $13.6 million outpatient surgery center. The project's size increased from 40,000 square feet to 62,100 square feet, but the system didn't provide an updated cost estimate to Albany Business Review.
