Glendale-based Ascension Wisconsin won approval for its $42 million Ascension Ambulatory Surgery Center in Mount Pleasant, Wis., The Journal Times reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. On Dec. 19, the Mount Pleasant Plan Commission approved Ascension's plans for the two-story, 72,000-square-foot ASC — a slight downsize from the 83,000-square-feet originally planned.
2. A building will be razed to make way for the Ascension Ambulatory Surgery Center, which will be built on nearly 7 acres.
3. Construction is expected to begin in January 2019, and the facility is expected to open in early 2020.
4. The ASC will feature six operating rooms, four gastrointestinal procedure rooms and laboratory space. It will also offer primary care, urgent care and imaging services.
5. An estimated 100 to 120 employees will staff the center.
