Anchor Health Properties and Knoxville-based Tennessee Valley Eye Surgery Center opened an 18,000-square-foot ASC in Knoxville.
Here's what you should know:
1. The ASC is the largest ophthalmology-focused surgery center in the state.
2. The center has six operating rooms and a procedure room.
3. The facility is adjacent to TVEC's medical office building, which Anchor and TVEC will renovate and expand.
4. Anchor Senior Vice President and Director of Operations Jonathan Nelson said, "This project is the successful result of three years of support and teamwork from everyone involved. Throughout the project, Melanie Burgess, TVEC administrator, the affiliated physician practice administrators and the entire TVEC Board provided enthusiastic leadership and vision, resulting in a multiphased project that provides expanded surgical capacity for TVEC and a state-of-the-art facility for patients and staff."
