Centennial Lakes Surgery Center (Edna, Minn.) Centennial Lakes Surgery Center recently recruited two new retina surgeons, expanding their ophthalmology service line. The facility now offers the following procedures to their community: 20-, 23-, and 25-Gauge Vitrectomy, Dropped Lens, and Buckles. The addition of this retina service line has also allowed Centennial Lakes to increase their cataract volume as the capital equipment required compliments both specialties. Centennial Lakes is a joint venture between local surgeons and Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA). The facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and Medicare certified.
Cool Springs Ambulatory Surgery Center (Franklin, Tenn.). Cool Springs Ambulatory Surgery Center offers a wide array of specialized services in gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, oral surgery, urology and orthopedic surgery. The center recently added pain management services as well. Opened in 2010, the freestanding outpatient surgery center includes five operating rooms and one gastroenterology procedure room. The center is accredited by The Joint Commission and affiliated with Symbion Healthcare.
Creekside Surgery Center (Anchorage, Alaska). Creekside Surgery Center opened in 2010 and provides outpatient services in a wide array of specialties including orthopedic, ear nose and throat, podiatry and pain management. Sue Sumpter, the ASC's current administrator, joined in March 2011. She implemented a total joint program at the center and has been working on developing a spine program. The center includes four operating rooms and has 17 physician owners.
Lakes Surgery Center (West Bloomfield, Mich.). Lakes Surgery center provides a wide array of outpatient services, including endoscopy, ENT, gastroenterology, gynecologic, ophthalmology, orthopedic and pain management. It added spine procedures to its portfolio in 2012 and is one of the few ambulatory surgery centers that has Mazor Robotics' Renaissance guidance system. The center has 25 physician partners, four of whom perform spine surgeries.
Litchfield Hills Surgery Center (Torrington, Conn.). The Litchfield Hills Surgery Center offers a number of orthopedic procedures including hand surgery, joint surgery and arthroscopy. It added spine procedures, such as lumbar and cervical disc surgery, within the last year. The center is certified by CMS and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare. It is staffed by six surgeons.
NorthStar Surgical Center (Lubbock, Texas). NorthStar Surgical Center offers patients a variety of services, including laparoscopic gall bladder removal, rotator cuff repair, total knee replacement, lithotripsy, sinus endoscopies, cataract surgery, excision of neuromas and surgical hysteroscopy. It recently added pain management procedures. Established in 2001, the center is a physician-owned facility that includes 35 physicians. It is affiliated with Symbion Healthcare.
Southgate (Mich.) Surgery Center. Southgate Surgery Center is an accredited, Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery facility and offers ophthalmic, endoscopic and pain management services. It recently added a physician focused on gastroenterology and an ocuplastic surgeon to the surgical staff. The center includes 20 surgeons as well as anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurses, technicians and administrators.
Surgery Center of San BuenaVentura (Ventura, Calif.). The Surgery Center of San BuenaVentura was developed by hospital and clinical personnel as a convenient alternative to overnight hospitalization. Christine Behm has served as its administrator since 1991. The center performed its first spine procedure in 2011, the same year in which net revenue per case more than doubled.
Surgery Center at Tanasbourne (Hillsboro, Ore.). The freestanding Surgery Center at Tanasbourne, was opened in March 2009 by Providence Health and Services. The center is managed through a joint venture with Blue Chip Surgical Partners, and it offers a number of services, including gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, plastic surgery and pain management. It will soon add ophthalmology services as well. The center features four operating rooms and two procedure rooms.
Surgery Center of Wisconsin Rapids (Wis.). Opened in 2006, the Surgery Center of Wisconsin Rapids is managed by ASD Management. It offers orthopedic and pain procedures as well as MRI and therapy services. In 2011, the center added an ophthalmology service line, along with three ophthalmology physicians. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
The Surgery Center at Lutheran (Wheat Ridge, Colo.). The 15,000 square foot surgery center was opened in 2006. It offers patients care in a wide array of specialties, including orthopedics, gynecology, pain management and podiatry. The center also added total joint procedures and spine procedures within the last year. The center is managed by Pinnacle III and includes four operating rooms and one procedure room. It is accredited by Medicare and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
Wilmington (N.C.) SurgCare. Wilmington SurgCare offers surgical procedures in a number of specialty areas, such as orthopedics, endoscopy, eye surgery, pain management, gynecology and general surgery. In 2011, it added urologic procedure to its portfolio. The surgery center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and certified by Medicare. It is a part of Nashville, Tenn.-based Symbion Healthcare's corporate network.
Yakima (Wash.) Ambulatory Surgical Center. The physician-owned Yakima Ambulatory Surgical Center includes three operating rooms and averages around 3,500 surgeries a year. The multispecialty center is in the process of adding neurosurgery and spine to its portfolio. The facility is staffed by around 30 full-time and part-time employees. It is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
