Tenet Healthcare named Richard Fisher and Richard Mark to the company's board, effective immediately.
Here are five things to know:
1. Both Mr. Fisher and Mr. Mark will be independent directors on the board.
2. Mr. Fisher is the former president and CEO of the Federal Research Bank of Dallas, a role he held from 2005 to 2015.
3. During his career at Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Mr. Fisher was a member of the federal open market policy committee.
4. Mr. Mark serves as president and chairman of Ameren Illinois Company, an energy and utility company.
5. Previously, Mr. Mark was the CEO and president of St. Louis-based St. Mary's Hospital.
Tenet Executive Chairman and CEO Ron Rittenmeyer, said, "Bringing new perspectives into the boardroom is a critical component of our efforts to accelerate change at the company. Today, half of our board has a tenure of less than three years, which includes the appointment of five independent directors in the last 12 months. Our new directors are providing important guidance and insights as we take actions to improve performance, reinvigorate growth, and enhance shareholder value."
