CRNA Julia Grove encourages active recruitment, ASC price transparency — 4 highlights

The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society featured Center for Specialty Surgery of Austin's Julia Grove, highlighting her thoughts on surgery center operations.

What you should know:

1. Ms. Grove serves as chief certified registered nurse anesthetist at the Center for Specialty Surgery of Austin (Texas).

2. She graduated from Fort Worth-based Texas Wesleyan University and underwent clinical training at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Calif. She attended OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with a focus on pediatrics.

3. Ms. Grove said the staff at Center for Specialty Surgery of Austin feels like family.

"Our surgeons know us well and vice versa," she told TASCS. "They know that they're getting a familiar team, and we know what they expect from us."

4. Ms. Grove also said she believes ASCs should actively recruit surgeons and adopt transparent pricing practices.

"Transparent pricing has not been a conventional practice in healthcare but is making small appearances recently that have a huge opportunity to affect healthcare in general," she said. "There is a huge opportunity for growth, and it's exciting for those involved from the ground level."
