Jack Abrams, MD, implanted the Las Vegas-based Abrams Eye Center's first Acrysof IQ intraocular lens to treat a patient with presbyopia, or farsightedness caused by loss of eye elasticity Sept. 4.
The new trifocal lens, which was recently approved by the FDA, allows surgeons to correct patients' near and distance vision
"Having this opportunity is very exciting for me. I look forward to being able to perform more surgeries with this incredible technology to give patients more individualized options for their vision," Dr. Abrams said.
