Eleven percent of nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants reported experiencing some type of sexual harassment within the past three years, according to Medscape's Sexual Harassment of Nurses, NPs, and PAs: Report 2018.
Medscape surveyed 6,235 physicians, residents, nurses, NPs and PAs across 29-plus specialties. Respondents could select multiple answers.
Here's how they responded:
1. Personally experienced sexual abuse, harassment or misconduct: 11 percent
2. Witnessed sexual abuse, harassment or misconduct: 14 percent
3. Accused of sexual abuse, harassment or misconduct: 1 percent
4. None of the above: 79 percent
