A study found an 89 percent success rate for single-operator cholangioscopy using Boston Scientific's SpyGlass Direct Visualization System, according to the October 2011 issue of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
The researchers concluded that the SpyGlass provides a safe evaluation of a large number of bile duct disease with a high success rate. It also allows for collection of biopsy specimens for histological examination — adequate tissue was secured in 88 percent of the cases.
