Study: Gastric Bypass Reduces Fat Intake

The Roux-en-Y gastric bypass leads patients to significantly reduce intake of dietary fat, according to a report by the American Journal of Physiology – Regulatory, Integrative, and Comparative Physiology.

This effect, linked to both solid and liquid dietary fat, continued for up to 200 days after surgery.

Further experiments suggest fat avoidance is triggered through the digestive system rather than just altered taste.
