Justin Forde, MD.
Dr. Forde, an advanced endoscopist at Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Northside Hospital Gwinnett, is a part of a recent expansion of the hospitals' interventional gastrointestinal program. The hospital added third-space endoscopy, an organ-preserving treatment option for patients who otherwise may require resection surgery to address precancerous lesions or early cancers.
Minesh Mehta, MD.
Dr. Mehta is a gastroenterologist at Atlanta-based multidisciplinary practice University Health Alliance. He will spearhead a recent partnership with Athens, Ga.-based oncology practice University Cancer & Blood Center to open a high-risk gastroenterology clinic, which will combine advanced technology with clinical expertise for the early detection of GI cancer.
Mick Meiselman, MD.
Dr. Meiselman recently joined Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Sansum Clinic for his expertise in endoscopic ultrasound. Dr. Meiselman, who also serves as the director of advanced endoscopy at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, will be working with Sansum and community physicians when they notice areas of concern during imaging, or when they have patients with gastrointestinal symptoms that require further investigation.
Neal Patel, MD.
Dr. Patel was named the CEO of United Digestive in April. Before his promotion, Dr. Patel was president and chief strategy officer for United Digestive. He is currently a partner physician and serves as a member of the physician executive committee for Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates. He recently joined Becker's to discuss his new role.
Jon Vogel, MD.
Dr. Vogel announced he will serve as director of Aurora-based University of Colorado department of surgery's new colorectal surgery fellowship program. The one year fellowship is the only colorectal surgery fellowship to have been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in Colorado.
