Micro-Tech introduces 'ultra-thin' cold snare

Micro-Tech Endoscopy launched its LesionHunter cold snare, a cold snare with an ultra-thin nitinol wire designed to advance polypectomy, the company said Nov. 18.

The snare's wire material provides durability and a clean cut, and its coiled metal catheter allows for greater stability, the company said. Additionally, the thin wire may reduce the risk of generating a "fly-away" specimen.

"The LesionHunter is a unique cold snare with two great features: the ability to trap the tissue regardless of how flat the lesion is and the 'cheese cutter' capability to resect even larger lesions," Gregory Haber, MD, gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist at NYU Langone, said in a release. "It has become my go-to for cold snare applications."
