The registry, a collaboration between MedAssurant and the AGA, is the first in a series that will address outcomes for patients with digestive disease.
"Through the Digestive Health Outcomes Registry, the AGA is leading the effort to establish the tools and programs necessary to support physicians and GI professionals as they seek to provide the highest quality care for their patients," Gail A. Hecht, MD, MS, AGAF, president of the AGA Institute, said in the release. "Electronic health records are an important part of the technology underlying the development of the registry. We are pleased that many gMed physicians will now be able to participate in such a fluid fashion."
Joe Rubinsztain, MD, CEO of gMED, said in the release, "We are proud to be the first to partner with the AGA and MedAssurant to improve the health of gastroenterology patients. We are certain EHRs will change the way healthcare information is managed, as well as the way in which it is leveraged to inform and drive positive change for patients. We welcome the opportunity to be on the leading edge of this transformation."
