William Karnes, MD, a gastroenterologist practicing at the University of California Irvine is helping develop an artificial intelligence system for colonoscopies, according to NBC affiliate WNDU.

2. Dr. Karnes told WNDU the artificial intelligence technology helps physicians find 20 percent more polyps than traditional colonoscopies.
