Dallas-based GI Alliance expanded its Louisiana presence Dec. 17 through the acquisition of Metropolitan Gastroenterology Associates.
Metropolitan Gastroenterology serves patients at three locations in New Orleans, Metairie and Westbank with a team of 26 gastroenterologists and 21 advanced practice providers.
GI Alliance now represents 49 gastroenterologists and 64 advanced practice providers in Louisiana. Nationwide, the physician-led GI services organization represents more than 800 providers, including 420-plus gastroenterologists and physicians.

We will be better able to serve our patients by combining our resources and working collaboratively with physicians who share our dedication to excellence across the country," said Metropolitan Gastroenterology President Steve Venturatos, MD, in a press release.
