Gastroenterologist John Gray, MD, has received the 2012 Community Service Award from the Nevada State Medical Association, according to a news release.
Presented since 1961, the award is presented to a physician who has performed outstanding community service work, above and beyond the call of professional duty, according to the release.
Dr. Gray is co-founder and practices out of Gastroenterology Consultants in Reno, Nev. He is the founder of the Nevada Colon Cancer Partnership, which is comprised of volunteers who work towards the reducing the number of people that suffer from colon cancer in Nevada through increased screenings.
Dr. Gray specializes in gastrointestinal and liver care. He received his MD from Washington University in St. Louis, and completed a residency and fellowship at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake City. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
