Bergein Overholt, MD, FACP, MACG, a physician with Gastrointestinal Associates in Knoxville, Tenn., and a leader in the ambulatory surgery center industry, is profiled in a report by Knoxville's WBIR.
The report includes both a video interview of and written story about Dr. Overholt, who opened the first endoscopic outpatient surgery center in the country, according to the report.
Dr. Overholt is also known for developing the flexible fibersigmoidscope-colonscope, serving as president of the ASGE and the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and as a founding member and past president of the Tennessee Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
