Here's what you should know:
1. GIRF named Alysha Biehl executive director and Farrah Watson director of finance and operations.
2. GIRF Lead Scientific Advisor David Rubin, MD, said the hires put GIRF in a better position to fundraise.
3. GIRF provides funding for research efforts within the University of Chicago Medicine's Digestive Diseases Center.
4. In addition to the hires, GIRF made six appointments to its board over the last year.
