ORBERA Intragastric Balloon, an Apollo Endosurgery device designed to treat obesity, has earned FDA approval.
The ORBERA is used to assist adult patients with a body mass index of 30 to 40 in weight loss and maintenance.
"While new to the United States, ORBERA is a weight loss device with more than 220,000 balloons distributed in over 80 countries and approximately 230 published papers documenting its clinical results," said Todd Newton, CEO of Apollo Endosurgery.
