Kyle Packer, DO, joined the staff of Jasper, Ala.-based Walker Baptist Medical Center, the Daily Mountain Eagle reports.

1. Dr. Packer is a general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive robotic surgery.
2. He performs an array of procedures but focuses on those in the gastroenterology space.
3. Dr. Packer earned his medical degree from Greensburg, Pa.-based Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed a residency at Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Medical Center, and earned his advanced gastrointestinal minimally invasive surgery fellowship from Baltimore-based Northwest Hospital Center.
