Colonoscopy is significantly associated with colorectal cancer mortality reduction, according to a case-control study of Veterans Affairs-CMS administrative data in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

The study found colonoscopy was associated with significant reductions in veterans' colorectal mortality. Colonoscopy was associated with greater benefit for left-sided cancer than right-sided cancer.
