The Colon Cancer Alliance changed its name to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
Here's what you should know:
1. The nonprofit changed its name as part of a larger rebranding effort.
2. Along with the name change, the alliance launched a new logo, a new website and a corresponding "visual identity."
3. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance established three main goals:
- Double the number of patients served by 2021
- Save 100,000 lives through preventive screening in the next decade
- Invest $10 million in research
Colorectal Cancer Alliance CEO Michael Sapienza said in a release, "On behalf of the entire Colorectal Cancer Alliance community, we are beyond thrilled to be launching this new name, logo and visual identity to help continue to grow as the leading resource for patients and families. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is the oldest, largest colorectal cancer non-profit in the nation and I am proud to part of this amazing evolution."
