Earlier this month, more than 40 members of the American Gastroenterological Association spoke with Congressional representatives in Washington, D.C., for AGA Advocacy Day.
Here are three of the asks AGA had for Congress:
1. To support a bill that would increase funding for the NIH by $1.25 billion.
2. To increase congressional oversight of MACRA implementation. AGA members raised concerns that without increased flexibility, MACRA requirements will negatively affect small gastroenterology practices.
3. To expand the criteria to qualify as an alternative payment model under MACRA.
