25 new GI/endoscopy centers in 2018

Here are 25 new GI practices and endoscopy centers opened or announced in the past year.

Washington, D.C.-based Capital Digestive Care purchased a 100,000-square-foot medical complex in Rockville, Md. The building will have an ASC, practice space, office space, infusion services and nutritional services.

Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health broke ground on an outpatient surgery center May 1.

Stuart (Fla.) Surgery Center at Martin Health opened. The ASC was developed in partnership with Raleigh, S.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners.

Construction began on Colchester, Vt.-based Green Mountain Surgery Center in April.

Goshen (Ind.) Health's outpatient surgery center was deemed fully functional April 19.

Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System opened an outpatient surgery center in Vinings, Ga., April 16.

Supply, N.C.-based Novant Health Brunswick Endoscopy Center is set to open May 2.

Oxford-based Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi opened a new clinic in New Albany, Miss.

Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Medical Center opened an endoscopy center on its main campus, combining its ambulatory and inpatient offerings under one roof.

Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, N.J., opened a Digestive Care Center inside its ASC.

After three gastroenterologists expressed interest in joining Buffalo (N.Y.) Surgery Center, the center filed an application with the New York Department of Health to add a GI procedure room.

Oak Hill, W.Va.-based Plateau Medical Center broke ground on its first expansion in 40 years April 26. The medical center will add an endoscopy suite.

Memorial Hermann Cypress (Texas) Hospital's recently approved $25 million expansion will include an endoscopy suite for GI procedures.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham opened its Multidisciplinary Colorectal Cancer Clinic Feb. 28.

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System opened Mount Sinai Doctors Palm Beach (Fla.), focused on bringing primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology and ophthalmology services to the area.

Cleveland Clinic opened its Coral Springs (Fla.) Family Health System, which features an outpatient surgery center as well as endoscopy suites, July 1.

Dayton, Ohio-based Digestive Specialists plans to open a 28,000-square-foot office in Sugarcreek Township, Ohio, that will include two gastroenterologists and 20 employees.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Tryon Medical Partners filed a certificate-of-need application to construct a $2.8 million gastroenterology facility with an outpatient surgery center and four endoscopy rooms.

Cleveland Clinic Children's opened a $28 million freestanding outpatient center Sept. 24

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health will soon open a surgery center on Fleming Island, Fla.

San Gabriel, Calif.-based Pacifica Digestive Health relocated its office to San Gabriel Valley Medical Plaza's fourth floor.

Gastroenterologist Judith Csanky, MD, opened a new clinic in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Hornell, N.Y.-based St. James Hospital cut the ribbon on its new medical office building. The 50,000-square-foot medical office building houses an array of outpatient services. Facility physicians specialize in services including ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, cardiology, medical oncology, neurology and neurosurgery.

Cincinnati-based Ohio Gastroenterology and Liver Institute spent $3.9 million to open a third location in Liberty Township, Ohio.

Lancaster, Pa.-based RGI & MidAtlantic Endoscopy commenced its new surgery center project with a wall-breaking ceremony. The practice is demolishing an existing medical office suite and building a new center in Penn Medicine Lancaster (Pa.) General Health's Suburban Pavilion.
