Steubenville, Ohio-based Trinity Health System has performed its 200th minimally invasive heart surgery, according to an Oct. 9 report from the Herald-Star.
Trinity first began offering transcatheter aortic valve replacement as an alternative to open-heart surgery in 2021.
TAVR entails putting a catheter through the patient’s blood vessel to push out and replace the heart’s malfunctioning aortic valve.
The median length of stay for Trinity’s TAVR patients is 1.2 days, according to the report.
