Here are 18 statistics on the percent of change ASCs typically see for payer rates, supply costs, staff raises and other expenses from one year to the next. The data is based on the HealthCare Appraisers 2017 ASC Valuation Survey.

The survey includes responses from 24 ASC companies representing more than 700 ASCs across the U.S.

Typical change in the ASC market includes.

1. Commercial payer rates

• 1 to 1.9 percent increase: 41 percent
• 2 to 2.9 percent increase: 45 percent
• 3 to 3.9 percent increase: 14 percent

2. Medical supplies and implantable device costs

• 1 to 1.9 percent increase: 32 percent
• 2 to 2.9 percent increase: 27 percent
• 3 to 3.9 percent increase: 23 percent
• 4 to 4.9 percent increase: 14 percent
• 7 to 7.9 percent increase: 5 percent

3. ASC staff raises

• 1 to 1.9 percent: 5 percent
• 2 to 2.9 percent: 59 percent
• 3 to 3.9 percent: 23 percent
• 4 to 4.9 percent: 14 percent

4. Other expenses

• Flat: 5 percent
• Less than 0.9 percent increase: 5 percent
• 1 to 1.9 percent increase: 5 percent
• 2 to 2.9 percent increase: 64 percent
